Engine Company No. 1 host's its Annual Ice Rescue Tech Certification Class. The class is held over two days (Sat and Sun) in late January or early February. This is one of the most challenging and rewarding classes you will ever take. Over the past 12 years, Engine company No. 1, along with Lifeguard Systems has certified over 1000 first responders. This class is open to all Emergency Services Personnel (Fire, Police, EMS). For more information, please click here.
The Bayport Fire Department and the four companies are funded soley by donations and fund raisers. Tax dollars are collected by the Bayport Fire District municipality and do not fund the Fire Department.
If you wish to make a donation to the Bayport Fire Department or any of the four Companies, please make your check out to The Bayport Fire Department (followed by the company name if it is for a company), 251 Snedecor Ave, Bayport NY. 11705.
If you are making a donation in memory of a fallen firefighter, please indicate the name of that fire fighter in the memo portion of your check. Donations for fallen firefighters are used to plant a tree in memory of that person.
If you wish to make a donation to the Burn Center, the Bayport Fire Department will see that it is forwarded in your name to the Burn Center.
The Bayport Fire Department occasionally does ask for donations door to door. However, if you are approached by an individual asking for a donation for the fire department or any fire related organization, please make sure they present you with official Bayport Fire Department Identification and badge.
