[August 21, 2013, Bayport NY] The Bayport Fire Department reponded to a motor vehicle accident late Wednesday night eastbound Sunrise Hwy at Vets Hwy.  The driver of one of the vehicles was traveling 

 

The Bayport Fire Department has learned that some residents are being solicited for donations via the phone. This is not authorized by the Bayport Fire Department nor does the department solicit via phone. Our fund drive is done only via U.S. mail and on rare occasion door to door. If you are contacted via phone, get the persons name, badge number and phone number. Do not donate over the phone. If you are visited in person, ask the member to present their Bayport F.D. Badge and Bayport F.D. Photo identification. Do not hesitate to call the police if you feel someone is impersonating a Bayport firefighter. If you have purchased a Big Bucks ticket or attended a BFD company event, you may be contacted by phone regarding those specific events.
