Some roads and low lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience minor flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Minor coastal flooding is also likely with the morning high tide cycle on Saturday, and may also be possible on Sunday.

    * WHAT...Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. * WHERE...New York (Manhattan) and Southeast Suffolk Counties. * WHEN...Until 10 AM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Some roads and low lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience minor flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Flooding for tonight's high tide cycle is likely to be isolated at most. Minor coastal flooding will also be possible for the high tide cycle on Saturday morning, especially across Southeastern Suffolk County.

    There is an increased risk of fire spread on Friday with northwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts to 20 mph and minimum relative humidity values of 20 to 25 percent. This will lead will to increased fire spread if ignition occurs. New York state has declared a burn ban through November 30. Otherwise, burning is strongly discouraged. Use extra caution if handling any potential ignition sources, such as machinery or matches, and ensure to properly extinguish or dispose cigarette butts.

    * AFFECTED AREA...Western Passaic, Eastern Passaic, Hudson, Western Bergen, Eastern Bergen, Western Essex, Eastern Essex, Western Union, Eastern Union, Lower Hudson Valley, New York City and Long Island. * TIMING...From Saturday morning through Saturday afternoon. * WINDS...Northwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 20 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Lower 60S. * IMPACTS...Rapid fire spread if ignition occurs.
