Multi-District Open House and Fire Prevention

The Bayport Fire Department will be participating in the first-ever Multi-District Fire Prevention Open House and Food Drive.

The Open House takes place on Sunday, October 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the West Sayville Fire Department, located at 80 Main Street, and features fire prevention demonstrations such as CPR, hose handling, and automobile extrication.

Children can take part in the junior firefighter challenge and can learn and interact with fire engines, ambulances, and other equipment.

Participants will also have the opportunity to meet and learn from the local fire departments of Bayport, Blue Point, Bohemia, Holbrook, Sayville, and West Sayville fire departments as well as the Community Ambulance Company. Fire extinguishers and smoke detectors will be handed out to families for free while supplies last.

Those attending are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for donation. Volunteer membership applications will also be available to anyone interested in joining their Fire or EMS agency.
