Emile Stoll

Son of Michael Stoll and Nettie Stryker, husband of Mabel Maude Brandt, whom he married on October 29, 1914 in the Bronx, NY, and father of Francis Webster Stoll. Obituary - Emile Stoll, 59, of Oakwood Avenue, Bayport, died suddenly Sunday at Southside Hospital, Bay Shore, where he had been two days. Born in Sayville, he was the son of the late Michael and Nettie Stryker Stoll, and lived all his life in this vicinity. For over 20 years he has been employed by the Islip Highway Department and for the past six years has been foreman for the east end and manager of the Sayville yard. He was a member of the Bayport, Sayville, and Suffolk County Republican Clubs and for over 20 years was a Republican County Committeeman. He was a member of the Islip Highway association, the Suffolk County Highway association, Connetquot Masonic Lodge of Sayville, and Court Bayside, Foresters of America, of Sayville. Mr. Stoll was a member of the Bayport Fire Department for over 45 years, held office in the department for over 20 years and for eight years served as chief. He is survived by his wife, Mabel Brandt Stoll; one son, Webster; three brothers, Ernest, George M., and Eugene C.; one sister, Mrs. W. Bates Stark and one granddaughter, all of Bayport. No DOB only year. Funeral services were held at St. Ann's Episcopal Church, Sayville, yesterday at 2:30 p.m., the Rev. Joseph H. Bond officiating. Interment followed in the family plot in St. Ann's Cemetery, Sayville. Masonic rites were held at the Stoll residence Monday at 8 p.m. Fire department and Forester services too place at the residence at 8 and 8:30 p.m., respectively, on Tuesday.

Joseph C Soucek

Joseph C. Soucek, Bayport Firemen, who also died of his wounds in World War One, also once adorned the front of the original Bayport Fire House. Both stones were dedicated in a beautiful ceremony at the front of the old Bayport Fire House on Memorial Day in 1935.
