Pierce on September 12th, when their, youngest daughter; Miss Marjory E. Pierce, became the bride of Mr. Percy O. L’Ecluse of Sayville, L.I. At six o’clock Mrs. Jack Wines, sister of the groom, of Bayport played Lohengrin’s wedding march, and little Miss Jane Lewis of Sayville, LI, dressed in pink taffeta, as the flower girl, carried a basket of pink roses and strewed them in the path of the bridal party. The bride and her bridesmaid, her sister, Miss Katherine V. Pierce, followed by the bridegroom and best man Mr. William Banks of White Plains, descended the stairs leading to the living room and took their places in the library under an arch of palms, ferns and pink roses. The ceremony was performed by the bride’s pastor, Rev. W.L. Comstock, of the Methodist Church. The ring service was used. The bride was daintily gowned in white taffeta and her only ornament was a string of pearls and a white ivory comb in her coiffure, while the bridesmaid wore a pink taffeta frock and a fancy comb in her hair. The groom and best man wore the conventional black. Following the ceremony, the guests were taken to the Westholm for the wedding dinner. After the dinner, Mr. and Mrs. L’Cluse motored in their car to Kingston and from there will enjoy a two weeks motor trip through the New England states. Mrs. L’Ecluse is one of Stamford’s most esteemed and popular young women.
