George Henry Ell

Son of William Henry Ell and Katherine A. Robinson, husband of Sarah Jessie "Sadie" Smith, whom he married on June 30, 1936 in New York, New York. In 1940, George H. Ell, aged 35, was living on Gillette Avenue, Islip, New York, with his wife, Sadie Ell, aged 35. He was shown to be a service man for an air conditioning company. Obituary - George Ell, 68, of 32 Evergreen Road, Flanders, and a former resident of Patchogue, died November 28 at his residence. Born in Sayville, he had lived in Flanders eight years, and was a retired heating engineer with the Sinclair Refining Co. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Riverhead, of the Flanders Men's Club and an exempt member of the Bayport Fire Department. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Essie Kost of Sayville, and several nieces. Bayport Fire Department services were held Friday at the Ruland Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Saturday at the funeral home, the Rev. Lowell Johnson, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Riverhead, officiating. Cremation was private. Burial Record - George Ell, aged 68 years, 4 months, 29 days, of 32 Evergreen Road, Flanders, a retired heating engineer for Sinclair Refining Co., born June 29, 1904 in Sayville, New York, the son of William N. Ell and Katherine Robinson, died at his home on November 28, 1972 as certified by Dr. Crawley of Riverhead, and was cremated at Washington Memorial Crematorium in Coram, New York, on December 2, 1972, by Ruland's Funeral Home. The cremains were mailed to Flushing Cemetery. The informant was Mrs. Lorraine Teel, of 289 N. Main Street, Sayville, New York. The bill was rendered to the Estate c/o Gilbert D. Bishop, Atty., of 85 Middle Road, Sayville, New York.
