A small seaplane crash-landed on a waterfront embankment on Long Island Tuesday morning.
The single-engine, single-passenger aircraft went down just feet from the waters of the Great South Bay off of Bayport shortly before 7 a.m., Suffolk County police say.

BAYPORT, NY - A pilot and passenger were injured when a small plane crashed in Bayport Sunday night, police said.
The crash occurred on 3rd Avenue near the Bayport Aerodrome around 7 p.m.
Photos from the scene show parts of the single-engine Piper plane on fire in the street at the corner of 3rd Avenue and 2nd Street.

At 14:31 Hrs the Bayport Fire Department responded to a Aircraft Emergency at the Bayport Aerodome. On arrival units acted fast and professional in securing the aircraft and helping EMS crews with the 2 patient's who walked away with minor injuries.
