Mech - Frederick, past pastor for the Bayport Fire Department.
"Let us remember" the Reverend Dr. Frederick Mech was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on the morning of January 15, 2022, while surrounded by his family. Frederick was born on July 7, 1928, in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of John C. And Gertrude Mech. He attended Patterson Park HS and then graduated from Albright College, majoring in Sociology.
While celebrating this time of year with our family and friends, please keep in mind those who need our help. Harrison Baron was a dedicated member of the Bayport Fire Department and recently relocated to North Carolina. Tragically, on Monday December 20, 2021, Harrison and Deanna arrived home to find their house on fire. In addition to almost all of their belongings, they also lost two of three of their dogs. It is with Deep Regret we announce the passing of Ladies Auxilary Member, Mary Farrell, mother of Mike Farrell and Aunt to Ex-Chief, Tucker Farrell.
A lifelong resident of Bayport, Mary graduated from Bayport High School. She was a longtime, active member at Our Lady of the Snow RC Church in Blue Point where she sang in the choir. Mary was also a longtime member with the Bayport Fire Department’s Ladies’ Auxiliary.
Mrs. Farrell is survived by her children, Patricia Reilly of Shirley, Michael and his wife Julia of Amherst, NY, Brian and his wife Cathy of Mastic Beach and Jean Sirianni and her husband John of Patchogue, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Scotty, her son James, and by her grandson, Casey.
