Some roads and low lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience minor flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Flooding for tonight's high tide cycle is likely to be isolated at most. Minor coastal flooding will also be possible for the high tide cycle on Saturday morning, especially across Southeastern Suffolk County.

    There is an increased risk of fire spread on Friday with northwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts to 20 mph and minimum relative humidity values of 20 to 25 percent. This will lead will to increased fire spread if ignition occurs. New York state has declared a burn ban through November 30. Otherwise, burning is strongly discouraged. Use extra caution if handling any potential ignition sources, such as machinery or matches, and ensure to properly extinguish or dispose cigarette butts.

Surface Ice Rescue Tech Level I 2020

Engine Company No. 1 is hosting Lifeguard Systems Surface Ice Rescue Tech Level I.

EMS Objectives - CME CREDIT (Suffolk County Only).  Sat Feb 8, 2020 8am - 12pm 

4 hour session is available for EMS personnel who do not want to take the full Ice Rescue class but want to learn about the medical concerns and procedures. They will also be introduced to the operations and made aware of the procedures for Tenders and Ice Rescue Technicians however no on ice or hands-on training will be conducted.

Operations Certification (no hands on) - Sat & Sun Feb 8, 2020  8am - 5pm 

Technician certification class room and hands on:  Sat & Sun Feb 8 & 9, 2020 8am - 5pm (class typically ends at 3pm on Sunday)
