It is with deep regret we announce that Ex-Captain Ed Kennelly has answered his last alarm.
Ed, born on April 11, 1927, and a lifetime resident of Bayport, passed away on October 7, 2019. He received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Syracuse and retired from Grumman after 36 years of working as a research engineer. He was a 76-year member of the Bayport Fire Department, Ex-President of Long Island Soaring, and Ex-Commodore of the Great South Bay Scooter Club.
Ed is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carole, his children, Bill of Patchogue, and Meghan along with her husband Tony of Ossining, and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home, West Sayville. Bayport Firematics will be held on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bayport Fire Department, 251 Sendecor Ave., Bayport, NY 11705 would be appreciated.
