Edward Arthur Densing Sr

Son of Henry Densing and Katherine Amelia Haberman, husband of Edith Marie Overton, whom he married on April 22, 1916 in Patchogue, NY, and father of Edward Arthur, Jr. (married Virginia), Ellen Katherine (married Henry Charles Doering), George Edward (Marion F. Pope), John Otto (married Miriam Jeanne), Henry Jacob (married June Bernice Crevoiserat), Kathryn Myrtle (married Ernest E. Flowers), Doris Jane (married John R. McCuen, married James A. Martin), Flora E. (married Marvin R. Van Essendelft) and Daniel F. Densing (married Marion Agnes Edsall). Marriage - Edward Densing, son of Mrs. George Hillenbrand, of Bayport, and Miss Edith Overton, of Patchogue, were married on Saturday by the Rev. Hermann Zoller, pastor of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Patchogue. Obituary - Edward A. Densing, Sr., 80, of Patchogue, died October 15 at his residence. Born in Bayport, Mr. Densing had been a resident of Patchogue for the past 58 years. He was a member of the Modern Woodsmen of America, the Foresters of America, Bayport Fire Department, Bayport Exempts, Patchogue Exempts, and a Democratic Committeeman for 36 years. Mr. and Mrs. Densing celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on April 22nd. He is survived by his wife, Edith of Patchogue; six sons, Edward A. of Flanders, George of Blue Point, Daniel of California, and Henry E., John and Franklin C., all of Patchogue; three daughters, Mrs. Catherine Flowers of Watertown, Mrs. Doris Martin of Hauppauge, and Mrs. Flora Van Essendelft of West Sayville; 37 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Services were held Saturday morning at the Rulands Funeral Home. Rev. Edward Densing, Jr. and Rev. Ernest Flowers officiated. Interment followed in Washington Memorial Park, Coram.
